Venice

Players: music please

Let the ball begin
Let the music smoothes you all
Let it take you to the lifeless floor
Dance my guests, dance

Hold your masks well fitted into your faces
Hide away your pride, hide away your prejudice
Fall into the deadly net of life
While you dance, dance

Stranger guests in my house
Stanger presence that calls for me
You dance like others and yet so differently
So you think!
Don't be afraid with my gaze
I'm not hiding on prejudice, nor in happiness
Dance stranger, dance

Your mask intrigues me
Your light violet feathers
Your purple vest, swinging as you move
Dance stranger, dance

Lonely are your moves
And such mask so tight, so... hard
People ignore you as you continue to dance
I see you my stranger
Dancing and dancing
But know one thing: your mask will fall
Eventually, surely it will
Although, you may choose how it should fall
And to whom it should

I am your host, my sweet stranger
I will not dance without invitation
I will not let my mask down
Not until everyone has leaving
You want to see what is behind this mask
To see what the world has shaped?
But this mask won’t fall
Not this one.
For that you'll have to wait
Until the end of the ball
Shall I save a dance for us then?
